Eltham Nexans Off-Road Fun Run/Walk

Event Information

Come and experience a unique event and be surrounded in beautiful forest and endangered wildlife such as tieke (saddleback), pateke (brown teal), hihi (stichbird), and kiwi.

Special conditions apply to this event. Rotokare is a pest-free sanctuary, please do your bit by following Rotokare's biosecurity guideline. Dogs are strictly prohibited. Please check your vehicle and bags for pests before entering the sanctuary, and take all your rubbish away with you (no bins available).

Getting there

All events begin at Rotokare Scenic Reserve.
To get there simply turn off at Eltham on to King Edward Street, follow this street (it becomes Rawhitiroa Road). Sangster Road will be on your right, with good signs for the reserve.
Parking is limited, please carpool where possible.

Registration

ALL entrants must attend registration to receive their event number.
Registration is available at Rotokare.
Entry fees are $10.00 per person or $35.00 per family (2 adults,
3 children) until Friday 2 February, 4.00pm.
Late entries will be available on the day at Rotokare for $15.00 for individuals and $40.00 for a family.

Start Time

Safety briefings will be held prior to the start of each event.
9.30am - 9km walk.
10.00am - 9km run, along with 2km, 5km run/walk.
As this is a off-road/trail event, only the short course is suitable for mountain-buggy type prams.

Water Stations

Water will be available at the finish.
This is a CUP-FREE event - please bring your own vessel!

Prizegiving

Prizegiving will be held immediately after the last competitor has finished. ALL entrants go into the spot prize draw.
Those who enter before 2 February 2024 go into an early bird draw for one of two prizes of $20.
Nexans travel prizes will be drawn at this event. To qualify you must complete four or more events.

Food and Beverage

Coffee cart and BBQ food will be available for purchase.

Additional Information

Rotokare is a special pest-free sanctuary, therefore dogs are strictly prohibited.
Please ensure you check your vehicle (in boot and under hood) and bags for any stowaway rodents before leaving home.
Please take your rubbish home with you (no bins available).
No cellphone coverage is available at Rotokare.
Rotokare Trust will have their honey and calendar fundraisers for sale.
Grassy areas and picnic tables provide a ideal place to stay for a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful view.
