To our valued stakeholders
As everyone will be aware we are currently living through a difficult period where the world is trying to manage the Covid virus. The situation in New Zealand is better than in most places, however to achieve this guidelines have been put in place for everyone’s safety. Currently those guidelines come in the form of the Traffic Light System. As TET Athletics Taranaki is governed by rules set by Athletics New Zealand and Sport New Zealand, we are obligated to abide by them. The Nexans Series comes under the ‘Event’ classification and as such we are required to follow the guidelines we have been provided. We aim to provide a safe environment for families to participate in physical activity through the Nexans Series and the Traffic Light System is New Zealand’s prescribed practice to achieve this.
A central component of this is the vaccine pass. Unfortunately, as it has been pointed out to us, not every potential participant are able to present this pass. As the organisers of the Nexans series we acknowledge this isn’t ideal or our wish. However, these are the rules that the 2022 series is governed by. Without following the guidelines our event would not be able to be held.
We all hope that these guidelines are temporary and the status quo can return to normal as soon as it is safe to do so. Until the vaccine passes will be a requirement at the events and we thank people for there understanding.
Jason Cressingham, President TET Athletics Taranaki
